My love for clothing stemmed from a young age but I only really developed my own style after I finished university and moved to New York City. The big apple exposed me to ways of dressing I had never seen in Australia and it made me view style in a whole new light. NYC showed me that style isn't about wearing trends or sporting the latest Prada pumps, it's about dressing for you, wearing something that makes you shine with confidence.
A selection of the world's most influential designers from the past 40 year drawn on archival fashion objects from the FIDM Museum in Los Angeles. Focusing on the post-punk period of the 1980s to the present day, the exhibit reflects fashion in our contemporary lives with works ranging from Alexander McQueen haute couture through to t-shirts and Adidas high-top runners.
Passing this black and white wall in Fremantle on the weekend, I couldn't resist taking a few outfit snaps, seeing as though I had dressed to match it!
The black and white trend can be seen all over the place. It is so easy to adopt that you'll probably find yourself wearing these two colours without even noticing....and perhaps even gravitating towards a black and white wall like me!
British model Stella Tennant graced the May design issue of The Wall Street Journal Magazine dressed in haute couture from today's top couturiers. At first glance one can see how much hard work goes into each stunning piece, how much talent is involved. Of course not everyone can afford a couture piece so seeing them in this month's WSJ Mag issue is a pure delight!
