Spring, Where Have You Gone?

Spring has gone into hiding just as we were convinced to bring out the warmer clothes.

I shot this outfit in the dead of winter showing how to wear dark florals during the cooler months. Thinking I had missed the opportunity to post as we moved into Spring, I tucked it away in a folder marked 'Rainy Day'. But here we are, Melbourne, thirteen degrees and rainy.

The act of layering is as relevant for us as it is for our friends in the northern hemisphere. A tip for transeasonal days? Layer your spring dresses with winter pieces, such as jacket and coats, and hope that the sun will eventually thaw through the chill and you'll be able to peel off those layers.

I plan on wearing this Reformation floral dress all the way through spring and summer. It's pretty and feminine, and while light-weight, the dark print makes it suitable for layering during cooler months. I've paired it here with my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots, vintage Gucci Tuxedo jacket and full length camel coat.
