A Natural Progression

It’s exciting when you’re on the brink of something. The idea was there all along, I just needed to jump and allow it to fall into place as it was meant to.

That has been photography for me. I’ve been shooting for years, beginning through my blog as a means to create content and publish my posts. Then brands began to approach me to create paid content. At this stage I still thought of myself as a blogger, not as a real photographer.

THE TURNING POINT

The catalyst for me was shooting backstage at Paolo Sebastian runway show in 2017. I published the images on my Instagram within hours of the show ending and the response I received was phenomenal. I was approached by fashion blogs and wedding directories asking if they could share the images as well as wedding photographers asking if I’d like to join their team. This gave me the confidence (and push) I needed to launch my photography business and take it seriously as I should have many moons before.

Now I am proud to say that I am fully invested in my photography. I have signed up for online business and photography courses learning as much as I can to take my business to where I want it to go.

Here are a few examples of my recent shoots below including wedding, maternity and family portrait shoots.

ARE YOU WONDERING WHETHER I’LL STILL BLOG?

Yes I will be! I still have far too many things to write about to say goodbye to Lei Lady Lei. Besides after eight years of blogging - yep eight years! - it would be a shame to stop now, wouldn’t it? We’ll see where I stand in the future, the baby is becoming more demanding every moment:), but I believe there is still a lot of life in my blog yet.

While I have updated my Instagram name to @LeiLeiClaveyPhotography I will be sticking with the one account for now, rather than dividing between a photography business account and personal. Expect a combination of my professional photography work as well as my blog and personal posts that you’re used to seeing.

Thank you for your loyal support for Lei Lady Lei blog and I hope you’ll also follow along on my photography journey at www.leileiclavey.com!

Lei xx
